Fear in Brooklyn

Akintola Hanif’s first exhibit in his homelands of Brooklyn will open at Harriet’s Alter Ego on Sunday, April 9, 2006. The exhibit, entitled The Other Side of Fear, is a look at his work from the past four years and will include a continous screening of his short film Freedom or Everybody Dies. Opening April 9 with an appearance from the artist, The Other Side of Fear will run through May 7, 2006. Harriet’s Alter Ego is located in Brooklyn at 293 Flatbush Avenue.

Freedom or Everybody Dies, continues to make it’s run at film festivals worldwide. Midwest fans can screen the cutting edge short film at the Thank God for Hip-Hop Film Festival & Action Conference. The Thank God for Hip-Hop Film Festival & Action Conference will celebrate the blessings of hip-hop’s power to effect change in the community.
